Earlier this year, our 3M Food Safety team conducted an anonymous survey to better understand the needs, purchases, and impressions of products those in the food safety industry depend on to make food safety and quality decisions. We’re looking forward to taking the top themes from the survey data and using them to focus our planning for the coming year. A huge thanks goes out to those of you who shared your thoughts with us. We really appreciate it!

Now that we’ve sifted through the survey data, we’re excited to share the industry insights and key learnings from our findings. Our data revealed four top themes:

1. You want test accuracy and reliability. We heard an emphasis on the importance of test accuracy and the critical implications of having consistent, reliable products. You want quality products that provide speedy results and are validated by a third party.
2. You need reliable product supply. An accurate and reliable test is no good to you if you can’t depend on the supply of that product.
3. You want a problem-solving partner. When you’re working with sales teams, you want partners who will listen and help solve problems. You need reps to go beyond just bringing new products forward – they should understand your issues and introduce you to the most helpful solutions.
4. You’ve got priorities for a post-COVID-19 world. In addition to ensuring you’ve got adequate PPE supplies, you’ll also be implementing new sets of protocols and workflows to create a safe and effective workplace post-pandemic.
